Education Workplace Design Case Study
Client: APSU Maynard Building
Austin Peay State University with its main campus in Clarksville, Tennessee is one of the fastest-growing colleges in the state of Tennessee. Originally beginning in 1806, and changing names several times, APSU founds its final name in 1946 after Governor Austin Peay.
ID+A has catered to this account for several years winning projects with design boards of carefully selected furniture and fabrics. After almost 2 years of design meetings and budget pricing, the Maynard Building which is the long awaited brand new Math & Science building was completed in January of 2014. The state-of-the-art two-story facility includes classrooms, lobbies, meeting areas, computer labs and office spaces. The construction project was handled by architect Rudy Johnson, of Rufus Johnson Associates. The new facility – which will house the APSU Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the APSU Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, both having growing academic programs – will join the Sundquist Science Building and the Hemlock Semiconductor Building to create a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) core on the eastern side of the campus.
