DIRTT Designer / Manufactured Construction Solutions Designer

We’re looking for a highly skilled individual to join our team and focus on designing specific DIRTT solutions.  DIRTT— Doing It Right This Time —is a cleantech construction company that’s radically modernizing the multi-billion dollar construction industry through the use of rapid, highly flexible and sustainable manufactured construction. Our DIRTT Designer is our technical specialist for the full DIRTT Solution (Walls, Floors, Power, Networks and Millwork).  Our solutions improve not only the way people build and interact with their surroundings, but they also drastically reduce construction waste and are flexible to meet ever-changing demands.

A DIRTT Designer is part artist, part visionary, part engineer and part computer tech wizard, all rolled into one approachable, efficient bundle. You'll use our ICE®software and work with the Champion and Project Manager to bring your client's vision to reality.

Creativity and persistence are crucial in this exciting and demanding design position. You are self-motivated and entrepreneurial. As the successful candidate, you’re resourceful, professional and have hustle, along with a strong and positive go-getter attitude. You thrive in autonomous environments and are driven to meet and surpass goals.

You either have experience in construction or are eager to learn the ins and outs of the industry. This solid understanding of the construction industry, job site conditions and building processes allows you to identify with general contractors and project managers. In essence, you speak their language.

You are a problem solver. You think on your feet.  You have an aptitude for technology, proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, a desire to continuously learn, and an ability to use a variety of tech tools to deliver for your clients.

You are a team player and have outstanding interpersonal skills, making it easy to work closely with all project stakeholders.

This position is focused on designing DIRTT solutions to meet clients’ project needs, and exceed their expectations.  The successful candidate will:

  • Understand that a DIRTT project is not a product installation. Working with DIRTT should be an innovative and unique experience for every client, from initial education through to final walkthrough;
  • Take the clients’ needs and ideas and guide them to a DIRTT specific solution that will wow all stakeholders;
  • Design client projects using ICE® software, populating the DIRTT space from scratch or from a predesigned AutoCAD™ plan;
  • Review all production information and drawings for accuracy;
  • Create shop drawings for client projects using ICE;
  • Organize and submit orders in conjunction with the Project Manager; and
  • Understand the scope of work on site and know all the details of a project.
